Our Board Member Aphrodite Kyriakou was a participant in the panel “Transparency Challenges and Solutions for Civil Society,” during Cyprus Forum organised by Oxygen for Democracy (3 October 2024, Nicosia City Hall).
Aphrodite highlighted the significant challenges encountered by organisations such as the CYPRUS INTEGRITY FORUM regarding resources, bureaucracy, and funding, which can all hinder efforts toward transparency.
In her speech, she also emphasized the essential role civil society plays in combating corruption, especially through educational initiatives aimed at promoting integrity. She detailed how organizations are actively working to foster transparency and accountability within the community, showcasing the important strides being made in the field of education to cultivate a culture of anti-corruption.
