The Cyprus Integrity Forum (CIF), the leading organization in Cyprus fighting corruption and promoting transparency, continues its dynamic mission to help shape a society founded on strong values, ethics, and accountability.

As an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization, CIF was established more than a decade ago with the aim of creating an environment free from corruption and grounded in full transparency—an environment in which our children can grow.

In this context, and in collaboration with the distinguished Greek author Katerina Vaimaki, CIF has created a children’s storybook for ages 6–12, which teaches values such as respect, honesty, integrity, and environmental protection. Through language and experiences familiar to children, the book aims to help them understand the importance of ethical behaviour and social responsibility.

With the valuable support of sponsors, CIF has already secured the free distribution of the book to more than 5,000 children across Cyprus. School visits and book distributions began last school year and continue, gradually covering all private primary schools on the island.

Some of the schools already visited by the organization’s members include the Grammar School, the Junior School, Terra Santa College, Pascal Schools, JCC School, the American Academy Nicosia, Olympion School, and others.

After the completion of the school visits and book distribution, CIF will organize a nationwide student competition, in which children will have the opportunity to share their favourite part of the story, the messages they gained, and their ideas for a society with greater transparency and less corruption. The five best entries from each school will be rewarded and publicly recognized.

Following the meeting between CIF and His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, on 24 June 2025, and with his strong support, the organization is moving forward with a proposal for the book to be distributed free of charge to all children in public primary schools in Cyprus.

It is noted that the book is not intended to become part of the official curriculum, but to serve as a personal tool for each child, helping to cultivate values and contribute to the formation of active, ethical, and responsible citizens.

The Cyprus Integrity Forum remains committed to strengthening transparency and integrity at all levels of society and calls on all stakeholders to support this effort—for a better and fairer future for our children.
