Police Officers Trained by the Cyprus Integrity Forum on Corruption & Integrity in Daily Work
The first training workshop of the Cyprus Integrity Forum (CIF) on the theme “Corruption & Integrity in Daily Police Work” was successfully completed on October 7, 2025, in collaboration with the Cyprus Police Academy.
The seminar, which was attended by Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers of the Cyprus Police, was facilitated by two members of the CIF Board of Directors, Dr. Branka van der Linden and Mr. Rovertos Yiousellis.
This workshop marks the beginning of a series of initiatives between the Cyprus Integrity Forum (CIF) and the Cyprus Police Force, within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding recently signed between the two organizations. The aim is to strengthen knowledge, transparency, integrity, and accountability within the security forces.
Through interactive exercises, real-life examples, and group discussions, participants had the opportunity to identify forms of corruption that may occur in daily police work, understand how small concessions can lead to serious violations, and enhance both personal and institutional accountability.
Particular emphasis was placed on the “grey areas” that challenge professional judgment and ethical consistency, on resilience under pressure during duty performance, as well as on the Pocket Integrity Checklist, which was introduced during the workshop.
This initiative forms part of the mission of the Cyprus Integrity Forum to promote transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership across all public and private organizations in Cyprus.
