On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the President of the Cyprus Integrity Forum (CIF), Mr. Marios Skandalis, and the Vice President, Ms. Elena Tanou, had the distinct honor of meeting with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, at the Presidential Palace.
The meeting took place in a particularly positive and constructive atmosphere, with the main focus of the discussion being the actions and strategic goals of CIF for promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical governance across all sectors of society, business, and the state. Mr. Skandalis presented the Organization's 2024 activity report and its goals for 2025, emphasizing that “the fight for transparency requires collective mobilization, preventive action, and constant vigilance.”
Special mention was made of CIF’s initiatives highlighting the need to foster a culture of ethics and integrity from an early age, starting in primary education. This is being pursued through the children’s book “Flying Hats”, created in collaboration with author Katerina Vaimaki. Distribution to 5,000 children in private primary schools has already begun.
The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, warmly welcomed the work and mission of CIF, expressing his full support for the Organization’s ongoing efforts toward a more transparent and just society. He stressed that the State stands by CIF and that such initiatives are of vital importance for democracy and the common good. As the President noted, the excellent cooperation between the State and organizations like CIF is essential and not coincidental, as for the first time in the past two years, Cyprus has recorded significant progress — both in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index and in the recent evaluation by Moneyval — a successful trajectory that has not gone unnoticed by various international rating agencies.
CIF continues its work with consistency and commitment, promoting ethics, transparency, and responsibility across society, business, and the state.
