Cyprus Integrity Forum (CIF) delivered the leadership seminar “Leadership with Integrity: The Role of Officers in Combating Corruption” at the Cyprus Police Academy on 20 November 2025.
Facilitated by Dr. Branka van der Linden and Rovertos Yiousellis, the session brought together an engaged group of senior police officers for a focused discussion on strengthening integrity, accountability, and ethical culture within policing.
The programme examined:
Recognition of corruption risks and structural vulnerabilities
High-risk operational environments and organisational pressure points
GRECO recommendations and evolving expectations on transparency and oversight
The influence of leadership tone, consistency, and behaviour on organisational culture
Real-case scenarios illustrating pressure, ethical dilemmas, and command-level decisions
Through discussion and practical exercises, participants explored red flags, cultural signals, and leadership responsibilities essential for maintaining public trust. Officers also worked on individual integrity commitments and decision-making tools designed to support fair, transparent, and accountable leadership.
This seminar forms part of CIF’s continued work to promote integrity, good governance, and anti-corruption resilience across Cyprus.
