On the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, the Cyprus Integrity Forum organized a roundtable discussion on 9 December with invited members of civil society, experts, and collaborating stakeholders. The event focused on the psychology of corruption, the individual and systemic factors that sustain it, and practical interventions to strengthen transparency and public trust in institutions.
The presentation and moderation of the discussion were led by the distinguished Dr. Andreas S. Anastasiou, Ph.D., Co-Founder of the International Institute for Compassionate Care and Co-CEO of A.S. We Talk Health.
On behalf of the Cyprus Integrity Forum, it was emphasized that International Anti-Corruption Day is not merely a symbolic milestone, but a timely call for collective responsibility. Corruption undermines citizens’ trust and erodes the social fabric; therefore, close cooperation between institutions, organizations, and civil society is essential. Through joint actions, transparency, and ethical leadership, a culture can be fostered where trust is not assumed — it is earned.
This discussion marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to promote transparency, integrity, and responsible decision-making at all levels of society.
