On Monday 17th of December Cyprus Integrity Forum hosted a round-table discussion on the deficiencies and future of the General Health System. The ideas that were exchanged highlighted the need for transparency from the System’s professionals, the avoidance of conflicts of interest and most importantly, the necessity to keep the GHS outside the scope of political expediency. On the practical side, the implementation of the findings of the CIF’s Manifesto, i.e. medical auditing for the GHS and the patient’s advocate are actions that cannot be delayed further.
